Katherine Melton Andrews was born on August 15, 1937 the youngest of six children to Richman and Francis Melton in Martin County, NC. Katherine passed from this present life to eternal life on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Katherine spent her earlier years in Popular Point, Robersonville/Gold Point. She attended the Martin County schools and graduated from East End High School, Robersonville, NC.
Katherine moved to New Haven, Connecticut where she worked as a seamstress for over 5 years before becoming a clerical assistant at the VA Hospital in West Haven, CT from there she retired.
Katherine moved back to Gold Point/ Robersonville where she reconnected with her early childhood friend, Charlie Andrews. They were married and both joined Willow Baptist Church, Gold Point, NC. She was a faithful choir member.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie B. Andrews; parents, Richmon and Francis Melton, brothers, James Melton, Gilbert Melton (Hattie), Willie Melton (Deloris); sisters, Louise Colman (John), Hattie M. Melton.
Katherine leaves to cherish her memories, her sister-in-law, Mildred Moore (Milton); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
