Mr. Alvin Williams

Alvin Laverene Williams was born on November 10, 1957 to the Robert L. Williams, Jr. and Julia M. Williams. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family. Alvin grew up in Bertie County where he attended public schools. After high school he attended Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC where he obtained an undergraduate degree in Business. He later decided to join the Military, serving in United State Airforce. After serving, he moved to Rosenberg, TX and worked in the city of Houston as auditor for oil and gas companies. He became a member of Lakewood Church in Houston, under the leadership of Joel Osteen where he served as an usher for many years. Alvin was a lover of Martial Arts, ultimately becoming a martial arts instructor, which gave him the privilege to teach many students. He valued education, also obtaining several other degrees during his lifetime, these included a Bachelor of Science from Shaw University, a Master's Degree in business administration from North Carolina Central University, and an Accounting Degree from University of Phoenix. After the death of his first wife, Sheila in 2020, he decided to move back to the town of Windsor after 40 years. He reunited with his teenage sweetheart, Rosa they dated and married on October 29, 2021. Alvin was given the opportunity to take a job at the Airforce base in Dover Delaware until he retired in June 2022. After his retirement, he and his wife decided to make their home in Winterville, NC. Alvin was a loving and wonderful husband with a heart of gold, very serious-minded, but never hesitated to help anyone, expecting nothing in return. He will truly be missed. Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Williams, his first wife, Sheila of 30 years. Alvin leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Rosa H. Williams; his mother, Julia M. Williams; a sister, Elaine Winborne; a niece, Kendra Williams; three great nieces, Champree, Kiiyana, and D'jayla; one great nephew, Josiah; one great-great nephew, Kamari; four step-daughters, Tabitha, Tinitra (Eric), Sheena and Letia; three step-granddaughters, Kierra, Za'Niyah, and Tyjah; one step-grandson, DaQuez; two step great-granddaughters, Makenzie, Madisyn; one sister-in-law, Maggie Witherspoon; one brother-in-law, Joseph Holley; a host of cousins and friends, and his Lifegroup Facing the Giant Koinonia Christian Center, Greenville, NC.
