It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Kathryn Diane Burns-Fort on July 30th, 2025. At the age of 69 years old. She passed with Family by her side. She was a devoted wife to Richard W. Fort and a loving mother to her children John and Brian Millard, Richard, Matt and Sheena Fort. She is survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of life with be held at the American Legion, Post 35 5050 Tweed Ct Wasilla, Alaska 99654 on Thursday August 7th @ 1pm. (Alaskan time zone) For those who cannot attend in person can join by: Zoom code: 311840
Kathy was born in Madison Wisconsin on November 17th, 1955, to Dale Burns and Arlene Krall. She has two loving brothers, Richard and Roger burns and sisters Nancy Thompson (deceased) and Mary Carson. Kathy is loved by all her nieces and nephews.
Kathy moved to Alaska in 1979 where she attended the University of Alaska Anchorage and earned a degree in nursing. She worked and Providence as an ER nurse at Valley Hospital, worked for Dr. Rudolph and finishing her career with Dr. Mike Orzechowski in Anchorage.
Rick and Kathy moved to the DC area for 8 years and moved back to Wasilla, AK following Rick's retirement.
Kathy loved camping, traveling and took pleasure in fishing, she was most often the first to catch and found it humorous when others did not catch any.
She will be forever loved and in our hearts.
