Katherine Amanda Caplik

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Katherine Amanda Caplik, age 33, on January 4, 2026. She grew up in Berlin, Connecticut and attended Berlin Public Schools. Growing up, she participated in recreational sports, including softball and basketball. She is a 2010 graduate of Berlin High School.
Katherine was a beautiful and kind person who always wanted to help others. She had a tender heart and a depth of feeling that shaped the way she loved others. She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Her love knew no bounds when it came to the kitchen, as she cooked delicious meals and baked sweet treats to enjoy with those who surrounded her.
She loved spending time with her family and always made sure to tell them "I love you" at the end of every visit and phone call. She found comfort in her time spent with and caring for animals, especially the family pets Kelsey, Oreo, and Daisy.
She loved reading, spending time at the beach, and going on family vacations. Her artistic talent brought joy to many through her drawing and pottery making. She also shared her creative spirit with her mother, whom she enjoyed making jewelry with, and her love for music with her father whose musical performances she always looked forward to attending.
Her smile, kindness, tenacious spirit, and helpfulness will be greatly missed.
Katherine is survived by her loving parents James and Karen Caplik, her younger sister, Kimberly Caplik, her grandmother, Edith Caplik, and numerous family members whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her grandparents Edward and Veronica Bogden and Alphonse Caplik.
Donations in Katherine's memory may be made to the Town of Berlin Animal Control located at 600 Christian Lane, Berlin, CT to honor her lifelong love of animals.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. Her funeral service will begin on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 8:45 am at Burritt Hill Funeral Home,332 Burritt St., New Britain, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain.
