Katherine Caprita Obituary
Katie was born November 26, 1985 to George J. Caprita Sr. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Disler) Caprita at Doctor's Hospital in Massillon, Ohio. Katie attended Canton Country Day School from K-8th grade before going on to graduate from Perry High School in 2004. During her time at Perry, Katie was a student-athlete, playing varsity soccer and softball. Upon graduation, she went on to attend Mount Saint Joseph (Cincinnati, Ohio) where she earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2010.
Katie was known for her commitment to helping people in all walks of life, which was evident in both her personal and work life. Katie also loved spending time laughing with friends and family, shopping, traveling to the beach and spending time at the lake. She also had a passion for animals and helping anyone in need.
Katie will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her love of life, love for her family and friends, and her giving spirit.
Katie is proceeded in death by her parents, paternal grandparents, George Caprita & Betty Ware, and maternal grandparents, Alfred, and Dorothy (Lynch) Disler.
Katie leaves to mourn her brother George "J.C." Caprita Jr., her step-grandfather Roland Ware, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm at Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Saturday, April 8, 2023, followed by a memorial service at 4pm. A dinner will be held nearby, in Katie's honor, proceeding the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Katie's honor to Canton Country Day School at cantoncountryday.org/giving/donate.cfm. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.
