Katherine Frances Coubert DeBold, 88, widow of James Phillip DeBold, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025, at The Homeplace of Midway, surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 16, 1937, in Versailles, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Belle Veatch Coubert.
She is survived by her sister Betty Jean Mason, of Frankfort and nieces Darlene Powell of Nicholasville and Katie Allison of Frankfort; daughter, Tammie (Gregg) Centers, of Nicholasville; sons, Jimmy (Mary) DeBold, and Jason DeBold, both of Versailles; grandchildren, James DeBold, Emily DeBold and Ella DeBold, of Versailles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leslie Edgar Coubert.
Katherine grew up in Nonesuch attending Clover Bottom Baptist Church. Katherine was employed with Rand McNally for many years and known for her hard work and dedication. She joined St. Leo Church in 1962 where over her lifetime she sang joyfully in the church choir. She volunteered for multiple parish activities including her sought after cakes that one could win from the Leo Fest cake booth. Katherine was a mom and friend to all who met her. Her kind spirit and joyous faith was contagious. She enjoyed many consecutive years serving as a poll worker for elections. She loved dressing festively to celebrate her favorite holidays. Katherine treasured time with her grandchildren.
