Katherine DeMore (Lakin), passed away at the age of 81 on December 30, 2024 peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was a long-time resident of Vineland, NJ.
She worked for 30 years at Milanesi School in Beuna, J, where they loved her and called her Mrs. Kass. See enjoyed going to the casino with her daughter and sister-in-law. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching them play sports and going on trips with them and her husband Patrick DeMore. Katherine loved going to bingo and attended Cedar Avenue Baptist Fellowship in Richland, NJ.
Katherine is survived by her daughter, Denise Whilden (Mark Whilden Sr.); her grandchildren, Mark Whilden Jr., Desiree Whilden, Bryan Whilden and her great-grandchildren Liam and Madelyn.
Katherine is predeceased in death by her late husband, Partick DeMore; her stepson, Carlo DeMore and her parents.
Family and friends will be received on Monday January 6, 2025 from 3:00pm until 4:30pm followed by a funeral service at 4:30pm at DeMarco – Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland, NJ 08360. Burial will be private.

Miss Kass as known by teachers and students was a great lady, she had compassion for students. She always had a wonderful smile and her job was an important one since she touched the heart of all students.
