Katherine L. Doyle (Pietrini), 91, of
Beverly, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday February 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Katherine was born on January 9th, 1935, and was raised in Beverly. She was the beloved daughter of the late Francesco Pietrini and Beatrice (Paluzzi) Pietrini.
Katherine was the beloved wife of the late Harold "Harry" E. Doyle Jr., with whom she shared 34 years of marriage. She was a loving and devoted mother to Patricia A. Doyle and her partner John Stone of
Manchester, NH, Susan M. Doyle of Amesbury, and Cynthia A. Thayer and her husband Scott E. Thayer of Reading. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Olivia K. Hilton and her partner Samantha Martinez, Harrison D. Cwik and his wife Francesca, and Andrew A. Hilton and his partner Nikki Bida. She was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Zachary Doyle Hilton.
She was "Nonnie" to all who loved her and she welcomed friends and strangers alike with the same warm greeting: "You can call me Nonnie".
She shared a special bond with her many Pietrini nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly and remained close to throughout her life. She also held a treasured connection with the Doyle side of the family, especially her sister-in-law Nancy and her niece Lauren Puia, whose relationships meant so much to her. In recent years, she lovingly embraced the Thayer family - Scott's children and grandchildren - welcoming them fully into her heart and family circle.
She cherished her lifelong best friend and maid of honor, Elsie Vasapoli, and Elsie's beloved family. Katherine held dear her many other lifelong friends and nurtured those friendships always.
A dedicated homemaker while working for Friendly's Corporation, Katherine later worked as an assistant at a medical office, where co-workers became like family with whom she shared her nurturing spirit and dedication.
Katherine expressed her love by taking care of others and was creative and patient in everything she did. She was happiest in her kitchen, cooking for family gatherings and hosting the many holidays that brought everyone together. She was the heart of countless celebrations filled with laughter, tradition, and togetherness and taught by example what truly mattered in life: love, loyalty, resilience, and family.
She loved friendly competition and enjoyed playing bingo, cards, or any game that gave her the chance to win. She was the recipient of countless gifts of "scratchies" over the years, and many laughs were had as the odds continued to get the best of her. She cherished time at the beach and treasured family vacations to Martha's Vineyard, where special memories were made year after year. She adored her grand pups and delighted in every opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved.
In addition to her husband, Harry, and grandson, Zachary, she is also predeceased by her siblings Joseph Pietrini and his wife Rose, John Pietrini and his wife Shirley, Margaret Miedzionoski and her husband Walter, her nephew Michael Miedzionoski, Anthony Pietrini and his wife Ann, and William Pietrini and his wife Sally and her nephew Douglas Corrigan.
She is survived by her brother Frank Pietrini and his wife Tobey.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family will live on in all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
