Katherine Albritton Dunham, known to family and friends as Kathy, passed away peacefully at her home in Gainesville, Florida, on October 11, 2025.
Born in Missouri and raised in the Florida Keys, Kathy grew up cherishing family, laughter, and the simple joys of life. She built a career in the hospitality industry as a restaurant manager, but her greatest joy was motherhood-raising her son Michael with unwavering love and devotion.
Kathy had a rare gift for lighting up a room. Her warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone she met. She loved cooking, traveling, and sharing laughter, and she faced life's challenges with courage and grace. Those who knew her remember her as beautiful, funny, fiercely protective, and endlessly generous.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Nick Dunham; her son, Michael Dunham; her daughter-in-law, Nevaeh Kelly; her grandchildren, Vesper and Lila; her parents, Lawrence and Katherine Albritton; and her brother, Raymond J. Albritton. She was preceded in death by her sister, Krista.
A private gathering of immediate family will be held in Ocala, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to breast cancer research, pancreatic cancer research, or pet adoption organizations.
To the love of my life: Your courage, grace, and love bring me great comfort. We did it right.
