Katherine Irene Green, 82, of Layton, Utah, passed away on November 4, 2024. Born on July 23, 1942, Katherine was the beloved daughter of Mildred Olson and Robert Philips.
She was born in Pocatello, Idaho, and raised in Rupert, Idaho, alongside her sister, Kris Johnson. Together they shared countless memories, laughs, and shopping trips. She also spent time in Chicago as a child and later moved to Utah as a young adult where she would later meet her husband.
Kathy married the love of her life, Parnell Green, and together they built a life full of adventure, laughter, love, and a few cuss words. She was a proud mother of three children, Kristine, Parnell, and Amy, whom she loved deeply, quirks and all. She also had the joy of being called "G-Ma" to several grandkids and great grandkids, who she spent many cherished moments with. Above all else she enjoyed spoiling her dogs, Puppet and Loddie.
She attended Idaho State University and LDS Business College where she later put her skills to use working as a secretary in the Davis County School District in Layton, Utah. She also assisted with the family's trucking business.
A woman of varied interests, Kathy could be found on the golf course, reading a book, or maxing out her credit card on a shopping spree. She enjoyed playing computer games and card games with her family, cherished traveling, and having a good drink or two. She will be remembered for her sarcasm, humor, adventurous spirit, and forever young heart. Her family will greatly miss her laughter, loyalty, and love.
Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Olson; father, Robert Phillips; husband, Parnell Green; daughter, Kristine; nephew, Billy; and grandson, Parnell. She is survived by her sister, Kris (Bill) Johnson; son, Parnell (Angie) Green; daughter, Amy Green; along with nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be held next summer in one of her favorite places, Star Valley, Wyoming, where family can gather to honor her memory in the way she loved best.
Until we meet again Kathy, Lova lova lova you.
