Katherine “Kathy” Pauline McCallum, a beloved resident of Lizella, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the age of 71.
Kathy was born on June 5, 1952, in Marietta, Georgia, to the late Lucille Arnold and Harold Arnold. After completing high school, she made Lizella her home for 39 years. Kathy became a familiar face in her community while working as a bartender at Archie’s Bar. Her dedication to her work and the relationships she built with those around her left a lasting impact.
Kathy's favorite pastime came from spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, creating countless cherished memories with those she held dear. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she took immense pleasure in being a part of their lives. She also adored her pet dogs, "Rollie" and "MC." These faithful companions brought joy and comfort to her daily life.
In addition to her mother and father, Kathy was preceded in death by her daughter, Staci Hershner; and brothers, Hal and Mark Arnold.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband, Ronnie McCallum of Lizella; children, Tessa Townsend of Lizella, David Johnson of Warner Robins, Phillip McCallum of Lizella, and Ron McCallum of Lizella; grandchildren, Hunter Duehart, Peyton and Cheyenne Cross, Chris Lamb, Marcus and Trenton Hershner, Katie, Derell, and Josh Johnson, P.J., Jamie, and Carrie McCallum, as well as three great-children, Wyatt, Gatlin, and Weston McCallum. Kathy will also be forever loved and cherished by her beloved sister, Sonja Blake of Lizella; and a bonus son, Andy Hershner of Lizella.
A memorial gathering will be Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Katherine “Kathy” Pauline McCallum will be laid to rest privately.
