Katherine Baker Mathis Age: 94 Of: Burns, Tennessee Died: Monday January 27, 2020 at her home in Burns. Mrs. Katherine was born October 25, 1925 to Bessie & William McQuade Baker in Camden, TN. She moved to Burns with her family where she met her husband Roger Mathis. Together they made their home in Burns for 57 years. She went to join Roger in their heavenly home on January 27, 2020. She was a homemaker and worked at Red Kap Industries. She also spent many years volunteering and holding an office for the VFW Womens Auxillary. She was known to most as Memaw but known to Pop as “Punk or Old Lady” and loved by many from daughters to great-great grandchildren. Visitation: 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 11 – 1:30 Thursday at Spann Funeral Home. Graveside Service: will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday January 30, 2020 at the Dickson County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Dale Baker officiating. Interment: in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens Survivors Include: 3 Daughters: Paula Hooper of Dickson, TN Cheryl Vacco (Nick) of Burns, TN Glenna Mathis (Kenny Bishop) of Burns, TN 5 Grandchildren: Tracy Taylor (Aimee), Landon Mathis, Candi Mathis, Jessica Smithson (Kyle Perales), Brittany Albright (Brandon) 2 Step Grandchildren: Nicholas Vacco & Terri Young (Sonny) 11 Great Grandchildren: Samantha Hassell (Dustin), Rachel, Avery & Emily Taylor, Savannah, Chloe, Katherine & McClain Mathis, Kennedy Daily, Presleigh & Briggs Albright, Jett Perales 3 Step Great Grandchildren: Taylor Gupton (Joseph), Allie & McKinleigh Young 3 Great-Great Grandchildren: Sawyer, Dawson, & Wilder Hassell Special Caregivers: Tammy Spradlin & Connie Bishop Guthrie A Host of beloved nieces and nephews. Her Beloved Pet: Nash Preceded in death by: Parents: Bessie & Willam McQuade Baker Brothers: William Carmack Baker, William Boogier Baker Sisters: Polly Brown, Betty Copley Waynick, and Mabel Baker In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Avalon Hospice
