Katherine Denise Mitchell, passed away on October 16, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. Born on March 13, 1965, in Gainesville, Florida, Katherine's life was a tapestry of warm memories and cherished moments that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Katherine was born in Gainesville to Katherine (Roger) Riddle and the late Fredrick E. Wint Sr.
She is survived by her son, Joshua (Heather) Mitchell; her brother, Fredrick Wint Jr.; her sister, Tamberly Pardee; her brother-in-law, Justin Cauley; and two beloved grandchildren. She was predeceased by her partner, Eddie Elliott, and her sister, Mary Cauley.
Katherine's passions included gardening, drawing, puzzles, and spending time at the beach. She cultivated her garden as a peaceful retreat, used drawing to express her creativity, and approached puzzles with patience and focus, reflecting her thoughtful nature. She especially loved the beach-collecting seashells and turning them into beautiful handmade crafts. Katherine adored her family deeply and loved them all immensely. Her pets also held a special place in her heart, providing her with constant companionship and comfort throughout her life.
As we bid farewell to Katherine Denise Mitchell, we celebrate a life lived with grace, a life that will continue to shine brightly in the memories of her family and friends. Her spirit, a gentle whisper in the wind, will forever be felt in the blooming flowers of her garden, in the strokes of her drawings, and in the hearts of those she loved. Katherine's journey on this earth has ended, but her story-a story of love and kindness-will be told for generations to come.
