Katherine Louise Rodgers

Katherine Louise Rodgers, 95, of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday November 5, 2025. She was born September 1, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, the only child of the late Harold and Hattie (Barie) Cederstrom.

She married William Rodgers in Detroit in October 1953. Katherine was a loving, supportive wife and a devoted and proud mother of two daughters. She was also a kindhearted adoptive mother to a long line of stray cats.

From her childhood, Katherine was artistic and creative, and became a talented florist, decorator, baker, and seamstress. She later capitalized on these skills to establish Kathy's Kraft Korner in Plymouth, Michigan, specializing in silk wedding arrangements. Her home reflected her gifts in an ever-changing wonderland of seasonal themes, impeccably curated and welcoming. Her Christmas cookies, some two dozen family recipes, were legendary.

She was perhaps best known among her many friends as the nicest, sweetest, friendliest person anyone could ever meet. She always shared a genuine smile and was quick with a joke or a giggle.

Katherine relocated to Chattanooga in 2014 following the passing of her husband, William. She joined Brainerd Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga where she was a member for many years, and she particularly enjoyed the fellowship of crafting with the knitting group.

Katherine is survived by two daughters, Nancy Rodgers and Sally Rodgers, her son-in-law Thomas Rutherford, and Daisy the cat.

A memorial service for Katherine will be held 11:30 AM Monday, November 17, 2025 at Brainerd Presbyterian Church , 1624 Jenkins Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421
