Katherine Ann Staas

Katherine "Kathie" Ann Staas (Davis), of Marysville, CA, passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 75. Kathie was born on March 2, 1949, to Lila and Harvey Davis in Marysville, CA.

Kathie attended Marysville High School, Class of 1967, where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Staas. The two married shortly after on December 7, 1968.

Kathie was well known for her creativity, organization, and involvement in the community. She was an avid crafter who enjoyed several different types of crafting including tole and acrylic painting, wood working, card making, and sewing.

Additionally, she enjoyed sharing her craft with others through teaching. Kathie taught tole painting classes, as well as volunteered frequently with the 4H and elementary schools to help teach arts and crafts.

Kathie also worked as a bookkeeper at the local pharmacy, and a sales associate at Cinnamon Heart.

In addition, one of Kathie's most enjoyable tasks was working with her husband on the family farm, Staas Dairy Farms, as a calf-feeder.

Kathie held this position for 37 years, where she enjoyed working alongside her husband and two sons daily.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Davis; husband, Kenneth Staas; sister-in-law, Judith Wiget; and brother-in-law, Donald Staas.

She is survived by her mother, Lila Davis; sister, Susan Abner; brother, Alan Davis; sons, Steven Staas (Cheryln) and Scott Staas (Brandi); grandchildren, Kerstyn Staas (Santos), Kristyn Banuelos (Cody), Joseph Staas, Gabriel Staas, Cole Banuelos, and baby girl, Banuelos. Kathie is also survived by several loving brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; nieces; nephews; cousins; family; and friends.

Viewing will be held at Sierra View Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 4 PM 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Sierra View Memorial Park on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11 AM. A Celebration of Life will be held at Wheatland Community Center immediately following funeral services.
