Obituary

My name is Katherine Marie Thomas. (Kathy/Pink Elephant is a name that was given to me by sister Barbara). Born on March 8,1947 to the late Leonard Brown and Lattie Mae Brown in Salisbury Maryland, I was the third oldest of the family having five siblings: Barbara L.Taylor, Linda D. Saunders and Leonard Brown, Jr., all of whom preceded me in death and Orgie L. Brown and Denise Davis.

I was a very charismatic young woman, attending Salisbury High where I meet my high school sweetheart. Soon after we welcomed my only child Terrence Lee Waters, my adventurous spirit led me to move to Washington, DC with my aunt, Nellie Hayman. There I attended college and later started a career with the Department of Engery. My career continued with Unisys as an Intake Parts Specialist for NASA until my retirement in 2006.

In my past time, I developed a love for baking and my specialty was homemade dinner rolls. On the weekends, I enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR racing. I shared a love of music and dancing with my love, Ernest M. Thomas who preceded me in death.

Thank you to my best friend, Sylvia King and my cousin, Sheryl Wright because your love and support will never be forgotten.

In 2024, due to unforseen circumstances, I moved back to my home town with my beloved sister Denice until my last days . My journey in this world may be complete, but my spirit still walks with you in every sunrise and every memory.

I leave to cherish unforgettable memories: my son, Terrence Waters; bonus son, Carvil Smith (Tonya); sister-in-law, Lois Rose; brother-in-law, Lowry Thomas; beloved aunts and uncles; Goddaughters, Natasha Snipe and Tynekia Dickerson and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and special friends.

"If you're reading this, know that I lived my life loving you all the best way I could. Don't let sorrow steal your joy. Tell my stories, laugh for me and keep going. I'm still with you, but just in a different way.
