Katherine Whitt of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas at the age of 80 years of age.
Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 2:00PM at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Jonathan Sullivan officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the funeral home.
Katherine was born and raised in Long Beach, California to Norman Altis Gideon and Mary Lyle (Black) Gideon. She met Milward Lee Whitt, and they were married on August 11, 1962. She worked for several years as a cook for Grandview Coffee Shop while living in Grandview, Texas. She later moved to the Dimmitt community in 1997, and she helped babysit at the First Babtist Church up until her retirement.
She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.
Katherine is survived by her children including 4 daughters, Tina Scott of Venice, TX, Vela Troha and husband Mark of Stephenville, TX, Wonona Barber and husband Vern of Green Forest, AR, and Shirley Stanley and husband Gary of Happy, TX: 4 sons, Randy Whitt and wife Holly of Louisiana, Robert Whitt of Seminole, TX, Milward L. Whitt Jr. and wife Tammy of Seminole, TX, and Emery Whitt of Minnesota, along with 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Milward Lee Whitt Sr., and daughter, Sarina Raquel Whitt.
