Kathleen Banister

BANISTER, Kathleen – of Davison, age, 77, passed away on July 25, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3222 S. Genesee Rd., Burton, MI 48519. Pastor Mark Matheny officiating. Interment will take place following the service in Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1 – 7 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
Kathleen was born in Cheboygan, MI on December 4, 1947, daughter of the late Marvin and Barbara (Scafe) Erdman. She married Robert Banister on August 8,1964, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Flint, MI. Robert preceded her in death on August 15, 2022. Kathy will be forever remembered as being kind, generous, and giving. She never said, "no" to anyone. She often could be found with her constant companions, children. Kathy loved to babysit and chauffeur for family, friends and neighbors; many of whom called her "Nana", "Aunt Kathy", "Gigi" or "Jo Momma". Kathy was a fantastic baker and cook. She made the best desserts ever. In her spare time, she loved to tend her flower and vegetable gardens. She and Robert loved to spend time camping various places, many times with children. They spent winters out west. Together, they were also very active members of Calvary Lutheran Church and Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
Kathleen is survived by her 2 children, Barbara (Robert) Haus and Roy (Tonya) Banister; 7 grandchildren, Rachel (Devon), Joshua (Kayleen), Marcia (Chirs), Kalee Ann (Travis), Mallory, Alexa and Arlo; 5 great-grandchildren, Camden, Gloria, Cash, Kinsley and Clayton; sister, Arleen (Mike) Christopherson; brother, Robert (Silvia) Erdman; sister-in-law, Delynn Erdman; special niece and nephew, Susan and Mark Hall; many other loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Marvin and Barbara; and her husband, Robert; Kathy was also preceded in death by two sisters, Darleen and Laura; brother, Sonny; and a beloved niece, Kellie Ann.
