Kathleen "Forman" Marie Barry 70, of Duluth, passed away on September 11, 2025 after complications from a stroke.

Forman was born on September 29, 1954 to Jim and Harriet McDonnell. She graduated from Hermantown High School in 1972 and soon after married the love of her life, Jim "PacRat" Barry in 1973, followed by the birth of their only child, Jeff.

She worked many years at Nopeming Nursing Home and several years at Mount Royal Pines Assisted Living until her retirement.

She was a strong woman. She was definitely one to speak her mind and let her thoughts be known. In her younger days, she spent many years playing women's fast pitch softball and played many years in County & City women's pool leagues.

Forman had a love of family, camping and fishing, especially with her best friend and sister, Janine. They would spend several hours in the boat fishing or playing games in the camper. The two of them had been known to sneak away to the casino on occasion. She loved side-by-side rides with friends and family. She loved her "RockFest Family" while going to RockFest for many years as "The Pink Flamingos Campsite". She had a lifelong love of horses and all the wild critters in her yard. She loved to watch her favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings; she rarely ever missed a game no matter how poorly they may have played and how mad they made her. She had a special place in her heart for her granddaughter Ava, whom she loved more than anything. She was well known for her excellent cooking skills, most notably her coney sauce and wild rice soup. Although, anything she made was delicious and made everyone happy.

Forman was preceded in death by her parents; dear sister, Janine (McDonnell) Ternes; and nephews, Jody and Zach.

Forman is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jim "PacRat"; son, Jeff (Tracy) Barry; 5 grandchildren, Ava, Tayler, Trevor (Faith), Megan (Dakota), and Will; 2 great-granddaughters, Berklee and Emery; brothers, Jimmy (Deb) McDonnell and Mike (Jackie) McDonnell; sister, Colleen (McDonnell) Seafolk; and many family and friends including her very special friend, Laurie Beth Burg.

Per Forman's wishes, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will be held in her honor from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 28th at the Buffalo Junction (Buffalo House), 2590 Guss Rd, Duluth.
