Kathleen Morefield Blanton peacefully entered Eternal Life on October 24th, 2025. Born on March 1st, 1932, in Kellyview, VA, and lived a life filled with many blessings. She married Charles Brownie Blanton on June 25th, 1949, and started a family. Kathleen was Mom to 6 Children, Gran to 10 Grandchildren, Great-Gran to 16 and Great-Great-Gran to 6.
After moving from Virginia to Michigan she worked alongside her husband at their carwash business in Marine City. "Kat" (as she was known by many) also established her own career as a well-loved bus driver for Algonac Community Schools. Sitting idle was not in her DNA and once retiring from there she took on the role of custodian for the Algonac Post Office, until she retired "again" after 15 years. There is so much to love and remember about Kathleen. The House on State St. had a continuous revolving door of visitors – both family and friends. She loved to garden & tend to the beautiful flowers in her yard. She kept her mind sharp with daily cross-word puzzles and learned to relax by reading books and watching her favorite TV shows. An active member of the Algonac Baptist Church for over 65 years, Kathleen was grounded in her faith. She spent her life serving God and helping any who needed it. Kathleen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
