Obituary for Justin Blanton
Justin Blanton, 38, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 10, 2025. He was born on December 13, 1986, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to his family and friends.
Justin was known for his big heart, his adventurous spirit, and his unmatched talent with anything mechanical. A hardworking man in all that he did, Justin took pride in his work and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was the best boat mechanic around and could fix just about anything he set his mind to.
He loved spending time outdoors - whether he was fishing (his greatest passion, second only to his love for his mom), hunting, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature. Justin was also proud to have completed many Spartan races and took great pride in staying fit and active. His determination and drive were evident in everything he did.
A compassionate and caring nurse, Justin touched many lives through his kindness and dedication to helping others. His warm smile, gentle soul, and willingness to lend a hand will never be forgotten.
Justin's faith was the foundation of his life. He lived each day guided by God's grace, seeking to serve others and reflect Christ's love in all he did. His favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 2:8-10, reflected his belief that every act of love and service was part of God's plan:
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
He is survived by his loving mother, Amanda Blanton; siblings, Jessica Blanton and Joshua Blanton; niece, Hayleigh Capps; grandparents, Billy (Debra) Brantley and Caren Burkett; step-grandmother, Glenda (Lamar) Bennett; aunts and uncles, Heath (Jeana) Blanton, Mellissa Smith, Penny (Ray) Dupree, Michelle (Ray) Vaughn, and Jeffrey Brantley; cousins, Jordan Murphy, Jonathan (Jessie) Dupree, Matt and Beth Harlowe, Trent and Heather Pettit, Alex Davis, and Sarah Brantley; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Justin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lamar Blanton; grandmother, Hilda Register Blanton; father, Emory "Rocky" Blanton; step-grandfather, Jerry Burkett; and cousin, Ronnie Harlowe.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m.
Justin's legacy of love, hard work, faith, and compassion will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
Gone fishing in Heaven's sparkling waters, where the sun always shines and the fish are always biting.
