Our beloved husband father and son, Skeet, passed 11/10/25 at the age of 65. Born January 12, 1960 to Carol and Wray Hunter in Brooksville, Florida. His momma said he was just what she prayed for.
Skeet, his parents and his little brother moved to the Winter Garden area when he was a young man and he graduated from West Orange high school where he had made life long friends.
Skeet was known for reaching out to others, compassion, giving personality and was a heck of a dancer. His love for life and his fellow man was huge and the small meaningful acts he did daily was the story of his life. He was also an avid fisherman and spent some time in tournaments when he could. It didn't matter if it was fresh or salt water, he was fishing it.
His love of others couldn't touch the love he had for his daughters and he would randomly call them if a song reminded him of one of them.
In his adult life Skeet worked for Caterpillar in a service truck and also for Coastal Tug and Barge for a bit. After that he became a farrier until the devastating fire works accident in 2000. The community of Brooksville, Florida rallied around he and his family in a giant way.
As it turned out he was not to be stalled in life and he went into the storm debris clean up world. Establishing Storm Hunter Hauling, he kept trucks working in Louisiana while courting Archer Western Alberici and the Army Corp for the large contract to help rebuild the levee system in New Orleans after Katrina.
After that job was done Skeet put his mindset into the oil fields of North Dakota hauling water and oil. He put all his effort and resources there and then returned from the oilfield with lessons learned.
From there Skeet went on to work for various companies and recently returned from Kerrville, Texas where he was with RDF Disaster Recovery after the horrible floods in that area.
His survivors include his wife of 32 years, Shawn; his mother, Carol; his daughters Ashley Barber (Jason), Baily Skinner, Jessica Hunter, and Jamie Castillo (Jagren). He also has a surviving brother, Dan Hunter. His grandchildren Jacy Barber, Kellie and Hunter Knott, Josh Hunter, and Marley, Bentley and Jace Castillo. Sadly his daughter Tanya Wallner passed away this year.
Skeet will be missed by so many folks and we are putting together a memorial for him at the fishing camp in Perry, Florida.
Donations of kindness to others and compassion for the downtrodden are greatly appreciated. We know he walks in faith with the Lord through Jesus Christ our savior
