Kathleen Connaughton

Kathleen Connaughton, 71, of Suffield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at

Hartford Hospital. Born on August 23, 1953, in Springfield, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Gilbert E. and Helen (Luce) Barker.

A lifelong lover of the arts and a dedicated educator, Kathleen was the proud owner and instructor of Kathy's Dance Dynamics Studio, located in Scitico Plaza, Enfield. For nearly 49 years, she inspired generations of dancers, many of whom went on to win prestigious competitions across the country. Her passion for dance extended beyond the studio, as she also served as a judge for the Starpower Dance Competition, earning admiration and respect within

the dance community nationwide.

Kathleen is survived by her two sons, Michael Connaughton and his wife Alicia, Danny Clark and his wife Lesley; her 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren; her brother, Richard Barker and his wife Carol; her nephew Kevin and his wife Mary and her devoted best friend, Nancy Calvi. Her warmth, creativity, and tireless dedication to her students and family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Kathleen's family on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
