Kathleen Ann Conroy, 79, of Topeka, passed away on December 2, 2025 at The Healthcare Resort of Topeka. She was born on January 6, 1946 to Donald and Ruth (Harrington) Morrow in Concordia, Kansas. She grew up with her sisters, Mitzy and Cindy in Emporia, KS. During her childhood, she and her sisters enjoyed riding bikes, playing in their sandbox, and later on creating drama programs with their neighborhood friends. She attended grade school and high school in her hometown of Emporia and later attended Kansas State Teacher's College.
On August 14, 1966, she married Russell James Conroy. They raised three daughters in Topeka.
Kathy was a lover of many things. One of her very favorite things in life was feeding and watching the birds at the feeders outside the window of her room. She set a high standard of love for animals. Many stray dogs and cats were rescued and given a new home with the family. Squirrels, birds and chipmunks all benefitted from her love and care for wildlife. She loved to read, write and study history and the Bible. She played the organ and piano and enjoyed singing. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and a beloved friend to many.
Kathy is survived by her daughters; Kristen (Justin) Roberts, Jennifer (John) Young, Shawna Conroy, her sister; Cindy Harrington, grandchildren Jaiden, Jaxon (Moriah), Keillor (Shane), Jude, Jaife, Kiersi, Kyrian, Jhett, Dayne, George (Makayla), and Rachel; and three great-grandchildren Everlee, Teddy, and Colton. She was preceded in death by her father; Donald Lee Morrow, her mother; Ruth Ellen (Morrow) Bolton and her sister; Mitzy Sue Remington. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 9:00 am.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Committal service will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
