Thompson - Kathleen Marie Desilet, 64, of Thompson, CT, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2025, after an 11-year battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 33 years, Kenneth G. Desilet; her daughter, Elisabeth N. Zawada and her husband Mark of Putnam, CT; her granddaughter, Charlotte N. Zawada of Putnam, CT; her mother, Barbara A. Meisner of Hopkinton, MA; several nephews and one niece; and close friends Michelle and Gary Martinik.

She was preceded in death by her son, Noah B. Desilet; her father, Eugene H. Lundergan; and her two sisters, Barbara J. Lundergan and Deborah A. Lundergan.

Kathleen grew up in Hopkinton and Framingham, MA. She graduated from Framingham South High School in 1979. She also attended Saint Vincent's School of Nursing in Worcester, MA, from which she graduated in 1982. Kathleen worked as a Registered Nurse for 36 years and dedicated herself to assisting those in need. She most recently worked at Westview Healthcare Center before retiring in 2018 due to her illness.

A loving mother and grandmother, Kathleen spoke to her daughter every day and spent as much time as she could with her granddaughter (and "birthday buddy"). She loved all animals, especially her dogs Loki and Pepper. When she was in better health, she enjoyed traveling and visiting Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, which she had done with her husband Kenneth and family for over 35 years. She enjoyed good music and was an avid Aerosmith fan. She made it a family tradition to watch the Wizard of Oz whenever it was on TV, along with The Polar Express every Christmas season. Her gentle smile, contagious laugh and unmatched wit will be terribly missed.

Kathleen will have memorial visitation on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 4pm – 7pm at the Gilman Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Church Street, Putnam, CT 06260. A gathering will start at 10am the following day at the funeral home, followed by a service at 10:30am.
