Kathleen L. Dunmire, 94, formerly of Punxsutawney, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Corry Manor.

She was born on October 26, 1930, in Sunnyside, PA, a daughter of the late Roy and Blanche (Whitmer) Reed.

Kathleen was raised and educated in the Punxsutawney area and graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1948. After high school, she went to college for a period and then married and started a family. She worked at the shoe factory, then as a waitress and most recently she worked for JC Penney in Sales for 27 years. Kathleen retired in 1999.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Custer; two daughters, Linda Ferry and Kathy Bubash; son, Roy Custer and two brothers, Eugene and William Reed.

Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, William Dunmire; daughter, Tracy Sopher of North Warren, PA; stepchildren David (Pam) Dunmire, Cheryl (Brad) Ruffner, Lesa (David) Ramirez; seven grandchildren, Todd (Wendy)Phillips, Shelly Hoak, Brandi Phillips, Misty (Gary) Weber, Ashlee Sprandle, Heidi Kreckel and Heather Martin; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

No services will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a church of one's choice, or plant something in her memory.

Arrangements are under the care of Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA 16407.
