Kathleen Honor (O'Sullivan) Gray, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at her home in Walpole, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Known affectionately as "Kay" to her friends, she was born in Boston, Massachusetts on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1932. Kay was the cherished daughter of the late Laurence John O’Sullivan of Tuosist, Ireland and Honora “Nora” Kirwan of Slievegorm, Ireland.

Following the death of her father when Kay was three, she was raised by her loving mother until the age of twelve, when her mother also passed away. Kay then lived with her caring older siblings until her strong Catholic faith led her to become a Postulant at a local convent. Kay eventually made the decision to pursue a different path rather than becoming a nun. It was at Mosley’s on the Charles in Dedham where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Francis Gray, of Hyde Park, MA. The two were married on June 27, 1953, and together had 10 children. Kay and Ken eventually settled in Walpole, where they set down roots to raise their rapidly growing family. Kay was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole, regularly attending Mass and remaining a longstanding member of prayer groups. She was very closely associated with the Blessed Sacrament Community having her younger children attend the Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and CCD Program.

After her children had reached a sufficient age, Kay set out to further her own education, attending Boston College. Her decision to return to college after raising a large family was prominently featured in the news by the Patriot Ledger. At Boston College, she double majored in Religion and History, earning her Bachelor's Degree in 1983. Following her studies, Kay devoted herself to the Religious Education Program at Blessed Sacrament Church, eventually serving as the Director of the Confirmation Program. She also taught history full-time at Marion Catholic High School in Framingham. For her dedication to faith formation, Kay received an award from the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews before retiring in 1995.

Kay remained deeply involved with her parish community even after retiring. She continued with the prayer group, fostered lifelong friendships, and loved hosting gatherings at her home, always welcoming everyone warmly. Beyond her faith, Kay was passionate about giving back; for years she supported children through international charitable programs and shared her compassion locally by opening her home to children from Boston’s inner city while her own children were young, providing days filled with fun, food, and friendship.

Kay had a truly special gift for connection, easily befriending anyone she met. Christmas Eve was a particularly joyful night for Kay’s family and friends, as she hosted an open house filled with seasonal cheer. Above all, Kay’s greatest devotion was to her family. She and Ken shared nearly seventy wonderful years together, building a lifetime of memories. They treasured welcoming and celebrating their twenty-four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The couple enjoyed their Saturday date nights just for the two of them, while Sundays were reserved for large family dinners, which brought together children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, filling Kay’s heart with joy.

Kay was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Francis Gray. She was the loving mother of Lorraine M. Sweeney and her husband, Ned, of Wayland, Kenneth F. Gray, Jr. and his wife, Gretchen, of New Hampshire, Kevin J. Gray and his wife, Cheryl, of Bellingham, Kathleen A. Brecken and her husband, David, of Franklin, Jeffrey A. Gray and his wife, Jane, of Franklin, Sean M. Gray of Walpole, Daniel D. Gray and his wife, Pauline, of Coppell, TX, Matthew J. Gray and his wife, Michelle, of Wrentham, and the late Kathleen M. Gray and the late Christopher P. Gray. She was the cherished grandmother of twenty-four and great-grandmother of ten. She was the sister of the late John O'Sullivan, Mary Locke, Helen Mitchell, Marguerite Parker, Laurence O'Sullivan, Joseph O'Sullivan and Frances O’Sullivan. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Kay's visitation on Sunday, December 14th, 2025, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Monday, December 15th, 2025, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
