GLEN HAVEN – Kathleen E. Hampton, age 93, formerly of Glen Haven, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born to Ardith and Isabelle (Cummins) Carl on May 23, 1931, in Platteville Township, the oldest of ten children. On June 9, 1956, Kathleen was united in marriage to Gerald Hampton who has preceded her in death in 2007. Kathleen was a stay-at-home mom, keeping the home clean and tidy and keeping her family fed with her good cooking and her canning from the garden. She was always busy at the sewing machine in her earlier years, always making clothes for her family. We remember all four of us having matching shirts several times. At a later age, Kathleen started with China painting that she really enjoyed. She was proud to share her artwork with all her family who also loved receiving it. Kathleen was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan.
Survivors include her children: Mark Hampton and Ellen (Douglas) Hampton Borden; grandchildren: Tyffany (Jason) Atwell, Jessica (Charlie) Kruchten, Dez (James) Ploessl, Chad Hampton and Elise Hampton; great-grandchildren: Felisa, Abriahna and Brystal Hampton, Alexis Ploessl, Jade and Andrew House; Austin and Christina Atwell, Carter and Leah Kruchten, siblings: Geri Klar, Rosemary McMillan, Debbie Little and Mike Carl; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband Gerald, Kathleen was preceded in death by her siblings: Jim Carl, Peggy Leibold, Dick Carl, Nancy Smith, and David Carl.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster. The burial will be in Charlotte Cemetery, Glen Haven Township. Family and friends may visit on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Maplewood of Sauk City and Agrace Hospice Care for their wonderful care.
