LANCASTER – Richard C. Erickson, age 94, of Lancaster, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. He was born on June 15, 1931, the son of Stanley and Viola (Andrews) Erickson in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Calumet High School in 1950, and Southern Illinois University in 1955. Richard served in the Air Force as a Pilot. He was stationed in Tokyo Japan. When returning from service he worked for the federal government at bases in West Germany and throughout the United States. He also worked as an assistant football coach, tennis coach, baseball coach, and wrestling official.

On February 1,1958, he married Jane Meyers at Collinsville, Illinois. He was an excellent athlete, being an all-city Outfielder for Chicago in High School. He played college football, college baseball and was a college wrestler. He loved hunting, traveling, woodworking, and gardening. He loved a stiff drink and to tell a good story.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; sons: Jeffrey (Michelle) Erickson and David (Yulia) Erickson; and grandchildren: Drew Erickson, Paul Erickson, Geoffrey Erickson, Gwyneth Erickson, and Joseph Erickson.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dean Erickson; his sister-in-law, Jean Erickson; and brothers-in-law: Earl Meyers and Robert Meyers.

Visitation will be held on February 7,2026, at Kramer-Grau Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster, from 9:30AM to 11:30AM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:30AM. Burial will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois, where military rites will be accorded. Kramer-Grau Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
