Kathleen Jane Hanscome, of White Oak, NC passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at UNC Southeastern Medical Center at the age of 75. She was born in Fairfield County, Connecticut on February 26, 1948, to the late Alexander Smith and Lillian Hughes Smith.
Kathleen is survived by her adoring husband, Clayton Hanscome, son Clayton Hanscome Jr. (Judith) of Conway, SC, daughters Melissa McNary (Shawn) of Milford, Connecticut, Kristen Estrom (Daniel) of White Oak, brother Richard Smith (Laurie) of White Oak, sister Gail Cox (Wayne) of White Oak, four grandchildren Shawn, Joshua (Elle), Melissa, Max, and one great grandson, Devin. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Beverly.
Kathleen loved the Lord and her family dearly. She was a member of the Second Chance Community Church in Elizabethtown. She enjoyed clipping coupons, shopping, and spending time with her family. She also adored her faithful fur companion, Bruno, who woke her up each morning. Kathleen lived to be a great example of true faith. She will be remembered as a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and prayer warrior.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 2:00-2:45 pm at Second Chance Community Church in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm with the Reverend Dwight Holland officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the St. Jude's Childrens Network.
