Kathy was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband Edward Hemingway; sister Karen (Gary) Gibson; brother Kenneth (Patty) Halkoski; her in-laws Bill and Jan VanFleet; Joe (Gin) Koslakiewicz; Jeff (Kim) Koslakiewicz; Kevin (Jenny) Halkoski; Stephanie Halkoski; Rachael VanFleet; Chad (Kate) VanFleet; Rylee Koslakiewicz; Sydney Koslakiewicz; Faith Koslakiewicz; along with many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ken and Rose Marie Halkoski; her brother in-law Gary Gibson; sister in-law Kay VanFleet; and Ripley, her beloved mixed Terrier.
Kathy married the love of her life, Edward Hemingway, on October 26, 2002. Together they enjoyed motorcycle rides, flying and being by the ocean. She was an avid reader and enjoyed taking walks with Ripley while she rode her bike. She had a heart for all, often giving her time to feed the less fortunate.
Kathy graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Southfield, Michigan in 1971. She was a pediatric nurse for over 48 years, working in offices at Fun Coast, CMC and Twilight. She was truly a gifted nurse, which was shown by her kindness and the care she gave her little patients and their families. Kathy was soft-spoken and had a smile that radiated the room. Her 'Snow-White' personality brought calmness to any situation. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral mass will take place on May 1, 2025, at 11:00am at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, located at 4675 Clyde Morris Boulevard, Port Orange, FL 32129.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please make a donation to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Nurse Kathy will be forever in our hearts. My children loved when she took care of them at their appointments. She was so kind and gentle. Your reference to Snow White is perfect. She always asked about how everyone was doing in the family. She especially liked my mom who worked with her for a time. Our favorite nurse of all time!
