Kathleen Ann Henley, age 78, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, May
20, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Kathleen was born June 16, 1945, in Gary, Indiana, a daughter of the late George and Helen
(Suhey) Stofa. She attended Andrean Catholic School in Merrillville, Indiana, graduating with
the Class of 1963. Following high school, she attended Indiana University in Bloomington.
Kathleen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduation, she was employed as a
registered nurse in Indianapolis.
On February 5, 1969, she was united in marriage to Robert Henley in Crown Point, Indiana.
Following their marriage, the couple lived in Crown Point for several years and later moved to
Lowell, Indiana.
Kathleen had been employed at St. Anthony's Hospital in Crown Point for many years. Upon
retirement the couple moved to Gillett in 2014 and then to Shawano. Kathleen was an avid
reader. She loved 50's and 60's music, dancing, and her family. She was a devoted wife, mother,
and grandmother. Kathleen always enjoyed cooking for her family.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Shawano; daughter, Stacy Ruley of Shawano; three
grandchildren, Kelsey (Dalton) Corning of Indianapolis, IN, Dakota (Kayla) Ruley of Kaukauna,
and Daphne (Bryce) Clements of Suring; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Corning, brother, Jim
(Phyllis) Stofa of Colorado; and sister, Christine Walla of Indianapolis. She is further survived by
several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents;
son, Todd Henley in 2009; and sister, Eileen Doffin.
Private family services for Kathleen will be held. Burial will be in the Calumet Park Cemetery in
Merrillville, Indiana.
