Kathleen ("Kat") B. Johnson, 81, finished her mortal journey on June 22nd, 2025. Although she is gone, everyone who knew her will remember her drive, energy, and humor. Kat was a charismatic and adventurous woman who loved nature and the great outdoors. She was an activist for women's rights, public lands, and indigenous affairs. She supported her husband, Boma Johnson, in the teachings of the Western indigenous people and Native Americans.
Kat spent much of her professional career as a traveling nurse caring for the elderly in the comfort of their own homes, as well as providing care to those around her when the need arose. She had a kindred-type bond with her cats and treated them like her own children.
Much like the sunflowers she adored, Kat craved the sunlight and spent her latter years living in the desert of Arizona and then Utah, where she and Boma explored indigenous histories. She invested so much of her time trying to make the world beautiful through her art and eclectic decorating style, and collection of antiques. Her talent knew no bounds, from cooking to teaching herself how to play the Native American flute, nothing could stop her from mastering new forms for her creativity.
Kat lived many lives during her years on this plane. She made many connections and shared her knowledge and passion with all of them.
Kat is survived by her son, six step-children, and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, husband, and many fur babies she cared for over the years.
The families would like to thank Jay Mickleson for the care and friendship he provided to Kat over the years and the difference he made in Kat's life.

Kat, thank you for all the good things you did in your life. Thanks for the yummy meals and treats. Thank you for all the help you gave my dad Boma Johnson with his archaeology class presentations. I hope in the next life you can teach me to play the native american flute. With Love, D.E.S.
