We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Kathi McKnight. A free spirit and a fierce, loving mother and wife with a heart of gold. She left us unexpectedly but peacefully on October 24, 2024.

Kathi graduated from Donegal High School in 1970 and earned an associates degree in Business, specializing in Human Resources Management. She was also known as one of the best bartenders in Marietta, Pa. She worked tirelessly for 57 years and happily retired in 2019.

Her caring, fun-loving personality made a long-lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a strong and determined woman you will have ever known; her “never give up“ attitude and encouraging words would resonate within your soul. One of the ways she made an impact in this world was being an advocate for women by working at domestic violence shelters in Arizona and Pennsylvania.

“Cool mom”, “titanic personality”, “an angel”, “she’s just everything”, “I just love her”, “she loves so big”, are just a few expressions that we constantly hear from others.

A fan of baseball led her to enjoy many games, including attending spring trainings in Arizona, watching the Diamondbacks and in Tennessee with the Nashville Sounds. Her love of the arts allowed her to attend musicals, plays, and concerts at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, all of this along with her husband.

She is remembered by her loving husband, Bruce C. McKnight, her children, Melissa R. Scott, Mona R. Harris, and Dawn R. Clayton and to include her extended family, Lori A. McKnight, Josh C. McKnight and her grandchildren, Brianna Mrazik, Noah Turner, Keyshawn Harmon, Jade Turner, Savon Scott, 7 additional grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, Javin, Jaceyanna, Gianna, Maelani, and Jamison. Sisters, Carolyn Kamada, Eileen DellaMonica, Cindy Graham, and brother Thomas McGlynn.

Preceded in death: Thomas F. McGlynn (Father), Rosemary Brown (mother), Natalie McGlynn (sister), Christine McGlynn (sister).

To honor her wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and deeply loved her. Please click the link below to add your personal and or favorite memories you would like to share.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage donations to Humane Society of Sumner co. sumnerhumane.org or a local domestic violence shelter of your choice.
