Kathleen (Kathy) Elizabeth (Gaul) Coley, of Concord, surrounded by her loved ones passed away on January 27, 2025, at home.
Kathy was born on October 18,1950 to the late James John Gaul Sr and Eleanor G (Brophy) Gaul. She was also preceded in death by brothers Michael E and Anthony J Gaul and granddaughter Karsyn S Jernigan.
Kathy worked at Stanley Doors for a number of years and was an intricate part of the family business, Coley Transportation. A long standing member of Mecklenburg Community Church, her love for God and His people was evident in her service of others. Kathy’s spiritual gift was mercy, she derived great joy from helping those in need. She was a hospice volunteer for fifteen years at The Tucker Inpatient House and a frequent donor of items to 1CAN blessing boxes helping to feed the hungry. In any given situation Kathy’s favorite question was “how can I help?” She was the ambassador of inclusion, no one sat out the party if Kathy was present. She loved to dance and sing and laugh. She could be elegant or goofily stylish. Her favorite music was Christian, Elvis Country and a little bit of that old time Rock n Roll. Kathy’s large family was her greatest joy. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, siblings and numerous cousins. Kathy enjoyed traveling and enjoyed many trips with her husband, family and friends. At home her most favorite place was her sunroom where she enjoyed the sunrise and the sunset of each day and straightening “Granny’s” picture frame. Kathy’s smile, laugh, and incredible ability to comfort hurting and healing hearts were a gift to all who loved and knew her.
