Kathleen Kenny (née McHale) born in Mullaghroe, Belmullet, County Mayo, Ireland, born on December 22, 1936, passed away peacefully on February 16th 2025. Kathleen was surrounded by her loving family over the past two weeks as she battled with her illness. She was the beloved daughter of the late Sean & "Nan" Annie McHale, & the cherished sister of the late Martin McHale, Patrick McHale, John McHale, Michael McHale, Mary Mangan (née McHale), & Ann Lenihan (née McHale).
Kathleen immigrated to the United States in April 1954, where she lived with her brother Michael McHale and sister Ann McHale, and settled in New York City. It was there that she met the love of her life, James Kenny in 1956. They were married on June 27th 1959 and enjoyed a life full of love, laughter, and shared memories.
Kathleen's deep Irish roots and her vibrant spirit made her a treasured part of both her family and her community. She was known for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family. She leaves behind her loving husband James, children Mary L. Kenny, the late James Kenny Jr., John & Jean Kenny, Martin & Ellen Kenny & Kevin Kenny & Dominick Pace, grandchildren Kieran Kenny, Jack Kenny, Owen Kenny, Maeve Kenny & Kate Kenny and countless other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Kathleen was a role model to us all. She had such an impact on the lives of those who knew her. Her amazing faith provided her with the strength and determination to face family tragedies and rebound quickly from the typical struggles we endure in life. She endured challenges in her life that no one should ever have to experience, yet her incredible faith and love for life never faltered.
We are all so fortunate to have had Kathleen (Katie, Nanie, Mom) in our lives. She was our rock and showed us how to be strong in the tough times and how to enjoy the good times. Her sense of humor was unwavering.
Until we meet again, we will forever hold you in our hearts and live life the way you showed us.
A wake will be held at McGraths Funeral Home in Bronxville NY on Thursday February 20th from 4pm-8pm to celebrate Kathleen's life followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass on February 21st at 10:45am at St Joseph's Church Bronxville, NY.

Knew Kathleen when our children attended grammar school together. She was always smiling - always positive. My memory of Kathleen was of a strong, loving woman with a faith that was real - never judgmental. We all were better for knowing her - my condolences to her loving husband and beautiful family.
