Kathleen Lew, 74, of Manchester, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Born in Jersey City, she was raised in Fort Lee and later resided in River Vale, then Bayville, before settling in Manchester in 2012.
She began her professional life as a Real Estate agent in Bergen County, but her heart always belonged to books. Kathleen served as a librarian for over 30 years in both Bergen and Ocean counties, retiring from the Plumsted branch in 2019. Her love for reading, especially murder mysteries, was matched only by her passion for sharing that love with others.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: the beach, swimming, and volunteering for the PTA and the Friends of the Music Association in River Vale. Her warmth, intelligence, and dedication to her community left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Steven A. Lew; her sons, Thomas Lew and his wife Eileen, and Kenneth Lew and his wife Barbara; and her four cherished grandchildren: Isaac, Colin, Victoria, and Hannah.
Visitation is Wednesday July 2nd from 4-8 PM at the Oliverie Funeral Home located at 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester, NJ 08759.
