Kathleen Louise "Kathy" Lyons

Kathleen Louise Kiesel Lyons,

80, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 26, 1945, in Indianapolis to John and Athaleen Harlan Kiesel, Kathy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a proud graduate of Scecina Memorial High School.

Kathy worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in utilization review and discharge, where she dedicated many years of service. A passionate lover of sports, she was a dedicated Colts season ticket holder, and her favorite events to attend were the games in which her grandchildren played.

Family was truly everything to Kathy. She cherished family vacations to Siesta Key, hosted countless family dinners, and made sure her love reached every generation. She sent Sunday night texts to all her grandchildren-whom she affectionately called her "gifts from God"-to ensure they knew they were always in her thoughts. Her life was rooted in her deep love of God and the joy she found in her bustling family.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Joe Lyons; her children, Bryan Elmore (Esther Cook) and Kevin Elmore (Sally); her stepchildren, Shawn Lyons (Holly), Mike Lyons (Aura Lee) and Brian "Leggs" Lyons (Karen); 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; her sister, Debbie Peters; and many nieces, great-nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Wendell Elmore; her parents, John and Athaleen Kiesel; and her brother, John Kiesel.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 East 10th Street, Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the church with calling there from 9:00-10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Community Hospice or Scecina Memorial High School.
