Kathleen Merksick Obituary
Kathy was born December 24, 1953, in Omaha, Neb., to the late Pete and Helen (Donnelly) Merksick. She worked as a caregiver for Specialized Support Services for the past 7 years.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Kent Merksick in 2009.
Kathy is survived by her son, Chris "Buddy" Merksick, of Council Bluffs; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Betty, Steve, Barbara, Tom, twins, Pat and Annie, Tony and Susie; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation with the family is on Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service is on Wednesday, 2 p.m., at the funeral home with Reverend Joshua Potter officiating. Interment Garner Township Cemetery with a lunch following at the Mile-A-Way. The family will direct memorials.

Remember the days when Kathy, Annie and I would stay together at Grandma & Grandpa Donnellys. The days when we would play the game " I'm going to town to smoke my pipe and I won't be back until midnight". Kathy always called me Jovita just as Grandma Donnelly did. I am grateful that Kathy left me these memories I will forever hold dear to my heart until we see each other again. Love you cousin Kathy ! Carmen Jovita Donnelly Mahanke

I will miss Kathy very much. We never failed to talk when ever we seen each other, I have known most of the family for years and my mother and uncles have known the older generation of Merksicks for even longer. Your family is in our prayers.

Kathy was a very important person in my young adult life. She did so much for me and opened her home when I really needed it. Kathy had a heart as big as gold. She will be very much missed.
