MILLBURY – Kathleen “Kathy” (Fox) O’Brien, 63, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, Dec. 31st surrounded by her family.
Kathy leaves behind her loving husband of 41 years, John O’Brien, her twin sons, Jack and Tucker O’Brien, Jack’s wife Jennifer, Tucker’s wife Rachel and their son Benjamin, her brother, Richard Fox, Jr., her sister Beth Pallesen and her husband Keith Pallesen and their daughter Brierly Wills, and her beloved cats, Bella and Rosie. Kathy made an impact everywhere she went, and also leaves behind an incalculable list of friends, colleagues, and loved ones.
She is predeceased by her son Patrick O’Brien, and her parents: Richard Fox, Ed.D. and Patricia Fox.
A third-generation resident of Millbury, Kathy graduated from Millbury High School and applied herself intensely to a career in healthcare spanning 30 years, working in various administrative and credentialing roles at Fallon Health and UMass Memorial Health. Outside of work, Kathy was a passionate and vivacious woman with numerous hobbies. An avid reader, her favorite way to pass the time was sitting at Pleasant Road Beach in Cape Cod with her husband, lost in a book. She was a huge fan of Boston sports, loved to sing, cook, knit, and was deeply involved in the lives of her children.
Family and friends will remember and celebrate Kathy’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Friday, Jan. 9th from 10 a.m. to Noon with her funeral service to follow at Noon. Following this, a burial and committal service will be held in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
