Kathleen M. Reedy, 70, our beloved sister, dear aunt, forever friend and "Barney's Mom," passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2025.

Kathleen will always be the one and only "Kath" to her loving family who survives her; brother Robert "Bob" Reedy (Allison Boswell), sister Maureen Reedy (Tom Griffin), sister Connie Reedy Liston (Doug Liston), nieces and nephews; Jackie Reedy Griffin (Charly), Dan Reedy Griffin (Mary Kate), Kalyn Liston and Nick Liston (Yajaira).

Our dear parents, Jack and Jackie Reedy and sister Colleen passed away early in our family's lives, but have always been constant guiding lights, guardian angels and sources of strength along the way for Kath and our Reedy Family together. Our fiesty grandmother, Stella Reedy Allen, who lived until 101 was Kath's biggest cheerleader, especially when Kathleen returned to college at 35 and received her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and as Valedictorian, was invited to be the speaker at her graduation.

Kathleen will always be "Eeen" to her life-long friends she loved dearly from Fairmoor Elementary to Eastmoor High School, Ohio University and beyond. Eeen and her friends' monthly lunches and reunions through the decades were a source of joy, laughter and treasured memories; the gift of their shared life-long friendship was always held so very dear to Eeen's heart.

Kathleen's close circle of friends included her busy Rainbow Sisters group with Ohio State Buckeyes football game parties, Metro Parks hikes, birdwatching outings, Dawes Arboretum volunteering, Ohio Theater ushering and so much more. The Rainbow Sisters always meant never-ending fun and adventure through the years. Kathleen was always so happy to be part of her Rainbow Sister's close circle of friendship, love and support.

Kathleen lived her life believing in truth and Democracy, always supporting the spirit of diversity and equality for all, especially for the most vulnerable amongst us.

This life-long commitment to helping others resulted in Kathleen's mid-career change, becoming a mental health and addiction specialist supporting others in their courageous journeys of sobriety.

Kathleen thought the world of her professional mentor, dear friend & "little brother," Vince, along with her other colleagues and "friends like family" at Maryhaven, Southeast and the life-saving police and fire officers she worked with on the Rapid Response Emergency Addiction Crisis Team. There are no words to describe how you all inspired Kathleen and how much working side-by-side with you meant to her.

Finally, through Kathleen's decades of close friendships in her AA Family, she shared unshakeable bonds of love and support through meetings, service, sponsorship and recovery support circles. Kathleen was touched immeasurably by her caring and supportive teams of friends at Talbot Hall and Maryhaven. Kathleen believed in and lived the 12th Step in Dr. Bob's words; "In order to keep it, you've got to give it away."

Kathleen's deep love for her family and friends along with her steadfast courage, strength and dedication to helping others in need will continue to deeply touch our family and inspire all who knew and loved her.

We will always feel Kathleen's heart and spirit cheering us on in our lives. Kath will still be with us at our picnics, birthday and holiday dinners and OSU games as we always remember her; sporting her special Buckeyes hat, earrings and sweatshirt, cheering to "Beat the Band" in the thrill of the game and our family gatherings.

Kath's keen interest in what everyone in our family was doing and taking such delight in sharing pictures, stories, memories and laughs will always be of great comfort to us all.

Kath's eternal gifts are a continual reminder of what truly matters in this life: Love, Family, Friends, Democracy and our shared commitment to Humanity.

May our dear Kath's memory be a blessing to all of us who knew and loved her.

Arrangements are under the care of Egan Ryan Funeral Home. Kathleen's "Circle of Love" service will be with close friends and family, with a private family burial service at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
