Kathleen Seitz Obituary
Kathleen "Kathy" A. Seitz, 78, wife of Kenneth "Kenny" Seitz, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at MidState Medical Center, after a brief illness. Born in Meriden, CT on October 9, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Kay (Rochette) Yanelli. She was a lifelong Meriden resident and a graduate of Maloney High School (1965) and Eli Whitney Technical School's LPN program (1968). Kathy was a retired LPN and was a devout parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.
Kathy loved camping, crosswords, reading and watching all sports, especially UConn basketball. Her greatest enjoyment was watching her granddaughters' many athletic and musical activities.
Besides her beloved husband of 55 years, Kenny, she is survived by her two daughters, Debbie (Mark) Szczepanski and Kristine Seitz; her two granddaughters, Ella Kay Szczepanski and Cara Lynn Szczepanski; her sister Mary Beth (Jerry) Melesko; along with nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450, on Friday, February 13th from 4 to 7 p.m. The Connecticut Nurses Honor Guard will conduct a service in the funeral home at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 14th at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center Street, Meriden, CT 06450. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden, CT.
