Kathleen Weber

Kathleen (Katie) passed away on December 26, 2025. She was 85 years old. She raised eight children in Edgebrook and was an active parishioner of St. Mary of the Woods. Katie was a woman of deep faith. However, she was equally comfortable praying the rosary as she was cheering on her kids and grandkids in gymnasiums and baseball fields around Chicago, laughing hysterically with her "Nashville 5" and enjoying nature on her many camping trips around the country. Her house on Hiawatha became a true home to an endless number of friends and family looking for a laugh, a cry, a few nights of shelter or just a cup of tea.

Katie was the beloved wife of Robert for more than 63 years; cherished mother of Robert, Jr. (Linda Whigam), Patrick (Kimberly Cleland), Mary Kathleen, Mary Margaret, Michael (Roseanne Popieluch), David (Elizabeth Eldridge), Mary Eileen (Colin) Mahoney, and Matthew (Erin Conley). Adored grandmother of 26 grandchildren: Peter Weber, John Weber, Hannah Weber, Samuel Weber, Patrick Weber, Daniel Weber, Quinn Weber, Prairie Weber, Deirdre Almaguer (David Gomez), Ezekiel Johnson, Grace Johnson, Michael Weber, Caroline Weber, Sarah Kate Weber, Lillian Weber, Claire Weber, Anabel Weber, Emmett Weber, Mary Mathilda Mahoney, Robert Mahoney, Henry Mahoney, Fiona Weber, Eileen Weber, Elizabeth Weber, Kassidy Lynn Rowell, and Mary Josephine Weber; great-grandmother to Cash and Calvin Miller; loving daughter of the late Mary and the late James Tracy; caring sister of the late James Tracy, Jr., Mary Ann Gorman, and the late Elizabeth Stavros.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Mary of the Woods Church, with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 11 a.m. immediately followed by Mass at 11:30. Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Misericordia or the Fr. McDonagh Tuition Fund at St. Mary of the Woods. Arrangements entrusted to Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home.
