Kathleen "Kathy" Denise Wright's journey began February 6, 1962 as Dale and Donna (Case) Wright welcomed their first of three children home.
Kathy was a strong-willed fighter from the very beginning. Through all the obstacles that life handed her, she kept everyone on their toes. Kathy lived most of her life from a wheelchair and she was known to sometimes get impatient, possibly giving the person ahead of her a motivational tap from behind, hinting to get out of her way. The end result was getting the keys taken away.
Kathy had a big personality and was a blessing to all the loved ones who cared for her needs. You could not get anything past her, and she would let you know exactly what she liked or didn't like. A "NO, NO" told you just how much she was not having it!
Kathy made the best out of everything from laughing with her favorite sitcoms, dancing along to her upbeat music or music by Charlie Pride, and paging through JCPenney catalogs. But when Kathy was bored or had enough, she enjoyed tearing out the pages of those JCPenney catalogs, crumpling them up, and throwing them all over the living room floor as she laughed excitedly. Along with her laugh, her eyes and smile had a way of saying it all.
She treasured seeing all of her family, whether it was at home with her mom and dad, in the homes of caregivers, or visits at Perham Living. On Friday, December 1, 2023, Kathy passed away, ending her journey here, and bringing her back together with her mom and dad.
Preceding Kathy in death were her parents and her brother David Wright.
Surviving Kathy are her sister Kristi Wright; niece Kaila (Glynn) Myers; nephew David Vennes (Abi Devito) and their children Charlotte and Abel Vennes; and her aunt Jeneane.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 on Tuesday, December 5 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will be in the Perham Cemetery.
