Kathlyn Laszkiewicz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Krause Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Inc. - New Berlin on Feb. 24, 2026.
Kathlyn "Kathy" Alice Laszkiewicz was called home to the Lord on February 16, 2026, at the age of 88. Daughter of Edward and Alice (Rupert) Loosen.

She was the beloved wife of Paul for 67 wonderful years and a devoted mother to Michael (Sandy), Timm (Lori), and Karen (Mike) Mueller. Kathy was a cherished grandmother to Nicole Scholz, Karlyn Laszkiewicz, Rebecca Laszkiewicz, Alison (Nicholas) Paoli, Matthew (Katherine) Laszkiewicz, Rachel Mueller, and Sara Mueller, and great-grandmother to Elizabeth, Eleanor, and William, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. She is further survived by Louis (Audrey) Laszkiewicz, David Laszkiewicz, Carol (Al) Reinhardt. She was also loved by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.

Kathy lived her life guided by a deep and abiding Catholic faith that shaped her values, her kindness, and her love for others. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she quietly lived each day through compassion, generosity, and gratitude. Kathy lived with warmth, resilience, and an unmistakable smile that brightened every room she entered. Even in her final days, nurses would compliment her beautiful smile, a reflection of the grace, strength, and gentle spirit she carried throughout her life.

She found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. She loved baking, especially her famous chocolate mayonnaise cake, which became a favorite among family and friends. Her kitchen was often filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smell of something sweet in the oven.

Traveling, particularly with her relatives, brought her great happiness. Time spent together, whether near or far, was what mattered most to her. She loved gathering her family at the lake, always keeping an open door for summer holidays and get-togethers. Pontoon boat rides and her annual speedboat ride were traditions she looked forward to each year.

She cherished quiet moments, such as reading a good book on the boat while Bud was fishing. She enjoyed sewing, playing Uno, having lunch with Bud in the park, and getting her hair done; small but special routines that brought her joy.

Though she would often say she wasn't a dog person, Kathy loved all her dogs and grand dogs dearly, and they loved her right back. The Christmas season held a special place in her heart. Her beloved Christmas village, complete with a skating rink and sledding hill, reflected her love for tradition, family, and the simple beauty of the season she held so dear.

Kathy was a proud and dedicated member of her community. She spent many years working as a clerk at Walgreens, where she enjoyed meeting and serving others. Her faith inspired her commitment to helping those in need through her proud involvement with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She supported the summer lunch program and helped provide meals with humility and generosity.

She carried a strong work ethic throughout her life and faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience. No matter what she encountered, she met it with strength, dignity, and faith.

Above all else, Kathy loved her family deeply. One of her greatest gifts was being able to say "I love you" to every member of her family before she passed - a final reflection of the love that defined her life.

Kathy will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her faith, and the countless small, beautiful moments she created for those around her. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she built, the love she shared, and the quiet example of grace she gave to all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff at Angel's Grace Hospice for the compassionate care they provided Kathy.

Visitation will be held at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 16000 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 PM. Inurnment will take place at Holy Apostles Cemetery following Mass.

Memorial contributions in Kathy's memory may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
