Kathryn Louise Failmezger
January 22, 1936 - October 9, 2023 - Kathy Failmezger, 87, passed away on October 9, 2023, in Milwaukie, Oregon. She was born on January 22, 1936, in Salem, Oregon to Elwood and Opal Gettman.
She attended North Salem High School and after graduating from school went to work at the State Highway Division. While working in the Traffic Section she met a young engineer, Ron Failmezger.
On January 30, 1959, they married in Salem, Oregon. Together they had four children, Scott, Janet, April & Ann. After living in Salem, Keiser, La Grande and Portland the family moved to Milwaukie, Oregon in 1965. Kathy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1968 and served her Lord until her passing. Kathy was a faithful mother and wife.
Kathy was devoted to her children and her greatest gift was giving. She loved tigers and especially, Tigger. Her loves included cats, garage sales, bazaars, reading, history (both watching documentaries and reading about it), gardening, beautiful needle craft projects and loving her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jeanne, and daughter, April. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ron; children, Scott (Suzie), Janet, and Ann; grandchildren, John and Amanda; step-grandchildren, Heidi (Adel) and Crystal (Rod); step-great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Omar, and Tariq.
