Kathryn Jane Carpenter Gibbs, peacefully joined her husband in eternal life on October 2, 2022. She is predeceased by her husband Lawrence (Larry) in 1998 and son, Robert Michael in 1982. She is also predeceased by her parents Lela A. Dillenback and Gordon J. Carpenter, Sr., brother Gordon J. Carpenter, Jr., sister Beverly M. Christman, brother in-law Stanley Oakley, nephew Wayne Christman, and great nephew Wayne Darrach.
Kathy met Larry in Albany while he was going to pharmacy college, she worked for the State of New York-Civil Service Department. They were married on August 3rd, 1956.
She is survived by her brother in-law Owen Christman, Palatine Bridge, NY, sister Simone Oakley, Little Falls, NY, and sister in-law Barbara Carpenter, St. Johnsville, NY. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Two in particular, nephew Barry Christman, and niece Kim Oakley Smith. Kathy graduated from Fort Plain Central School and Albany Business College. During her lifetime she worked many jobs including General Electric, Great American, and IBM. During this time, she met many wonderful people. During her later years, she did quite a bit of traveling and hence visited a great number of states with her traveling companion Kathy Crandall.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm, Thursday, at the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 am until service at 12 pm. Burial will in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Samaritan House 11 Fayette St. Binghamton, NY 13901 in Kathryn's memory.

My mom and dad had a special place in their hearts for Kathy and Larry. I will miss her. Sad to hear this news. Blessed to have known her.
