Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olpin Family Mortuary on Mar. 24, 2024.
Early on the morning of March 20, 2024, an angel returned to her place in Paradise. She had been preceded there by her mother, Connie Mae Orr, and by her father Leudell Orr. The love of her life, Dan Harrison, was also there to welcome her home. They, along with a jubilant throng of angels, embraced her and welcomed her home.
Unfortunately, going back to Paradise meant leaving some of her earthly angels behind for a while. Her son Curt Dan Harrison and his wife Dayna, her daughter Camie Lee Miller and her husband Scott, and her daughter Tanya Lyn Wilkinson and her husband Kelly. Along with twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, all who will miss her greatly, and she will miss them. But the love and memories shared between them will fill the gap until they all join her and Dan and all the others who wait for the doors of heaven to open and accept them all forever.
Kathy was born in
Provo, Utah on August 19, 1945 and had a wonderful childhood growing up in
Springville, Utah where she attended school with many special friends. She loved sharing her time with Charlene and Carol. They all graduated from Springville High School in 1963.
She met Dan at a dance and on September 3, 1963 they were married for time and all eternity in the Manti temple. One funny story occurred after they had only been married for a short while. It seems that Dan was an avid hunter, and he convinced Kathy to go with him hunting pheasants. She just wanted to sit in the car and read, but when Dan would spot a bird in the field, he would jump out and start to sneak up on the bird. Kathy couldn't stand the thought of one of those beautiful birds being killed so each time Dan got close, she would honk the horn and the bird would fly safely to another field. Their hunting excursions were few and far between after that. This blessed union lasted for 53 years. Of course it still goes on today.
Kathy worked as a seamstress for a time in her life, but as Dan began to grow his catering and restaurant businesses she took over the accounting for the businesses. Later in her life, she worked as a receptionist at Mount Timpanogas Women's Health Care. Where her pleasant smile and loving disposition made her many many friends over the years. She also surprised herself by becoming quite accomplished on the computer.
She also had an enormous love for her Father In Heaven and served in many auxiliaries in her church, but mostly enjoyed her service in the Relief Society and working with the Young Women.
Kathy's story is a beautiful one and is best told by those who loved her and by those whom she loved back. Their words will be heard at the funeral services held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Pleasant Grove 9th Ward building; 455 East 200 South,
Pleasant Grove, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. The interment will take place in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
The Family would like to thank the American Fork Fire and Police departments and all the other first responders who were on scene and brought comfort to us at a very difficult time.
