Mrs. KK has gone to see Jesus. Not only a teacher by trade but a teacher of life. Every day was a new day and a new adventure. Her loud and often inappropriate advice has been adored by a multitude of students including her “one and only” daughter D’Ette Stelly, Son in Law Brian, “The Boys”- Bryce(Alena) and Nicholas Stelly. She is also survived by her little sister Mrs. Yvonne Andrepont, dear friend Mrs. Cookie Vega and Godchild Megan Mary Mast, Nieces: Amy Andrepont and Betsy Shaupe, nephews Jude Andrepont and Michael Andrepont. She was preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Alberta Andrepont and siblings Jeanne Essmeier and Albert Andrepont. She spent most of her life in the town of Donaldsonville, but she was “not from there” she was from Basile, Louisiana just a few miles past Eunice. She graduated from Basile High in the Class of 1964. KK then attended Nichols State University 1970 where she attained her master’s +30 in English and teaching certificate. She was married to Randy Hebert for 27 years. She taught for 42 years at White Castle High School, OLPS, St. John High, Ascension Catholic High School, Donalsonville Adult Learning Center, and Louisiana Technical Community college. She was a bookkeeper for basketball, Chief Editor for the yearbook, decorated for Prom, Homecoming, and any other dance that came along. She retired in 2012. She was AC tried and true. Joining the Elks in 2018 as the first female member and two-time Exultant Ruler in 2020 and 2021. She would then organize and decorate countless balls. After retirement she would then turn her focus to her beloved grandchildren and become affectionately known as “A’Pont” and begin teaching them, spoiling them and attending countless activities all while organizing the weddings for Ascension of Our Lord Church. She was currently serving as a board member on the Donaldsonville Area Counsil. My mother never met a stranger all were welcomed and fed well. There was always a pot of coffee to be shared with friends. She loved to decorate weather it was her home for every holiday, a wedding, a party, prom, homecoming, the Elks ball or just a story that needed flavor she loved to decorate. She decorated life with her smile and elaborate stories. She loved to sew and make crafts and God knows she loved to read. There was always a book within reach. This obituary is as long winded as she was because she did a lot and had a lot to say about it. I did not fall far from the tree of live, love, and laugh. My words are not always eloquent, but they are as true as hers were. She held so many people dear to her that I could never mention them all. She was a light in the darkness, a beacon to the lost, hope for the weary and strength to the weak. Her dash was filled with flowers, bows and “just a few sequins to make it shine. “

Service will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with Mass at 11 on Saturday, March 7, 2026. A graveside service will be held at St. Augustine Cemetery in Basile, LA at 2717 Doctor Bobby Deshotel Avenue on March 10th at 11:00 AM.
