Kathryn Morton Lawson, 83, of Falmouth, KY, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at StoryPoint (Crown Ridge) in Walton, KY. Born on December 8, 1941, in Bardstown, KY, Kathryn was a daughter of the late William S. and Mary Riley Morton. A 1959 Falmouth High School graduate, Kathryn worked as an accountant and internal auditor with Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati, OH, from 1978-2002. Loving to learn throughout her life, Kathryn challenged herself at the age of 65 and started taking classes at Northern Kentucky University in various areas of interest. Even later in life, she taught herself to paint, having her work exhibited at the Baker-Hunt Art & Cultural Center in Covington, KY.

From 1953, when her family moved to Falmouth, KY, Kathryn has been a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, where she volunteered as bookkeeper, and supported church projects and functions as long as her health allowed, with the Lenten Fish Fry and the Food Pantry being two of her favorites. In retirement, she also volunteered with the AARP Tax Aid, through the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program, providing help to families in Pendleton, Campbell, Kenton and Boone Counties.

Surviving are her son David Lawson (Sherry) of Carrollton, KY; her siblings: Patty Mains (Roy), Tom Morton (Susan), Joe Morton, and Debi Morton; her sisters-in-law: Reneé Morton and Sandy Morton; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband Frank Lawson and her siblings: Dr. Mary Morton-Gibson, James "Jim" Morton, and Chuck Morton.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, November 21, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Church: 202 Second Street, Falmouth, KY 41040, with the Very Rev. Britton Hennessey, V.F. officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Falmouth. Donations in her memory are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Knights of Columbus, St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, the Falmouth Lions Club, or the Butler Lions Club.
